PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a multi-piece golf ball which is excellent in a flying performance, can obtain an excellent ball hitting feeling by a putter and a driver and is also excellent in crack resistance.
SOLUTION : In the multi-piece solid golf ball provided with a core, an outermost layer cover and inner layer covers of one or more layers interposed between them, the core is formed of polybutadiene, which contains cis-1, 4-bonding by ≥60% and is synthesized by using a rare earth element based catalyst, as a main material. The diameter of the core is 34.7-40.7 mm, and the deformation of the core at the time of the load of 100 kg is 3.0-5.0 mm. The outermost layer cover is formed of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer, in which organic short fibers are mixed, as the main material. The Shore D hardness of the outermost layer cover is 55-70, and the thickness thereof is 0.5-2.0 mm. The Shore D hardness of the inner layer cover is 15-55, and the thickness thereof is 0.5-2.0 mm.
