PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnet roll of high productivity increasing magnetic force regardless its small diameter, and a development apparatus provided with it.
SOLUTION : The magnet roll is composed by arranging a plurality of permanent magnet pieces whose cross section is sectorial and which are molded by dispersing magnetic powder to a binder on the outer periphery of a metal shaft. At least one of the permanent magnet pieces is an integrated magnet piece for which a non-permanent magnet piece and a permanent magnet piece are integrated, at least a part of the permanent magnet piece is exposed to a surface, and the permanent magnet piece contains rare earth alloy magnetic powder as the magnetic powder. The development apparatus is provided with at least the magnet roll.
