PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth sintered magnet having high magnetic characteristics of ≥1.29T in Br, ≥2.4 MA/m in Hcj, and ≥320 kJ/m3 in (BH)max suitable for a motor.
SOLUTION : The rare earth sintered magnet consists of 28.5 mass% R (R containing at least one kind of rare earth element other than Tb and Tb), 0.91 to 1.15 mass% B, ≤0.35 mass% oxygen, and Fe or Co and inevitable impurities for the rest. Here, the content of Tb is 3.2 to 5.2 mass%, the residual magnetic flux density Br ≥1.29T, the coercive force Hcj ≥2.4 MA/m, and the maximum energy product (BH)max ≥320 kJ/m3.
