PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a laser beam machine which exhibits light condensing properties favorably comparable with YAG lasers or other lasers and, unlike the prior art, can eliminate an optical system of light condensing lens for a laser oscillator for focusing light on an optical fiber and an optical fiber, and can reduce energy loss.SOLUTION : This laser beam machine comprises a laser diode mounted on a machining point, a core with a rare earth element added thereto, a first clad surrounding the periphery of the core, and a second clad surrounding the periphery of the first clad. The laser beam machine further comprises a double clad fiber, connected directly to a laser torch condensing lens optical system, into which excitation light emitted from the laser diode is introduced and consequently is converted to a laser beam which is amplified, and a laser torch condensing lens optical system for condensing a laser beam output from the double clad fiber and applying the condensed laser beam to a workpiece.COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI |
