PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To produce an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst containing compounded catalytic components respectively having high catalytic activity for burning particulates and enabled to sufficiently exhibit their capabilities, capable of sufficiently burning and removing the particulates at an exhaust gas temperature, and excellent in the exhaust gas cleaning function, and to provide an exhaust gas cleaning material capable of completely burning and removing the particulates and remarkably excellent in durability.
SOLUTION : The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst of this invention and exhaust gas cleaning materials 2, 3 using the catalyst are respectively an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst comprising an alkali metal sulfate and a rare earth oxide and a noble metal deposited on the surface of a heat resistant inorganic oxide and the exhaust gas cleaning materials 2, 3 bearing the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst.
