PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a plating method where the corrosion of an object for plating such as a rare earth sintered magnet is prevented, the adhesion and reliability of a plating film are increased, and further, the treatment can be performed in a short time.
SOLUTION : As pretreatment to plating, alkali ultrasonic cleaning treatment using an alkaline solution with the pH of ≥7.7 is performed to an R-T-B-based sintered magnet after acid cleaning, thus the surface of the R-T-B-based sintered magnet is cleaned, residual acid components are removed, and further, the activity in the surface is suppressed. In this way, the adhesion of the plating film can be improved, further, the generation of rust on the boundary between the R-T-B-based sintered magnet and the plating film after plating is prevented, and the reliability of the plating film is increased.
