PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an environmental purification member which can destroy a harmful organic gas and a microorganism such as a virus, a bacterium or the like attached to a surface of the member even in a shaded environment.
SOLUTION : The environmental purification member is comprised of natural radioactive rare element mineral particulate fixed on a surface of a base of which at least the surface is made of resin and is a hydrophilic composite member which is so constituted that a silane monomer film having an unsaturated bond is formed on the surface of the particulate, a chemical bond between the resin on the surface of the base and a part of the film formed on the surface of the particulate occurs, and the environmental purification member inorganic particulate formed by the chemical bond between the particulates is fixed on the surface of the base, wherein the silane monomer film having the unsaturated bond is formed on the surface of the inorganic particulate, the chemical bond between the resin on the surface of the base and a part of the film formed on the surface of the particulate occurs and the chemical bond between the surface of the resin and the unsaturated bond existing in the film occurs by the graft polymerization. Preferably, the radiation graft polymerization is used as the graft polymerization.
