PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high initial efficiency and an excellent cycle property.
SOLUTION : A negative electrode for the secondary battery consists of a current collector and an active material thin film continuously film-formed from the collector and composed of elements of the 14th group of the periodic table storing/releasing lithium, wherein the thin film includes an element X (element X is an alkaline earth element and one or more kinds of the elements selected from a group consisting of the 14th group of the periodic table). A manufacturing method of the negative electrode for vapor-deposition film-forming the thin film onto the collector.
