PURPOSE : Provided is a nano-sized multifunctional polysuccinimide polymer for injection formulation, which shows the effects controlling polymer particle size, encapsulating a drug and minimizing a biological rejection, allows target-directed drug administration, and serves also as a contrast medium.
CONSTITUTION : The polysuccinimide polymer comprises a polysuccinimide backbone having a molecular weight of 1, 000-100, 000, and the following side branches bonded to the backbone : (1) a hydrophilic group derived from polyalkylene glycol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, dextran, polyethylene oxide or polyvinyl alcohol having a molecular weight of 100-20, 000; (2) a hydrophobic group derived from a C3-C80 amine or phospholipids; (3) a target-directed group derived from folate or transferrin; and (4) a chelating group, in which a contrast medium selected from the group consisting of gadolinium, manganese, iron oxide, aluminum, silicon, barium, yttrium and rare earth elements is included.
