PURPOSE : A wavelength converter, an optical parametric oscillator, and an optical parametric amplifier using a nonlinear optical fiber are provided to realize amplification over a broadband by using a parametric process.
CONSTITUTION : A wavelength converter using a nonlinear optical fiber includes a fiber loop formed with the nonlinear optical fiber. The optical fiber has a core layer and a clad layer. And, the core layer contains semiconductor fine particles having a nano size, metal fine particles having a nano size, or rare-earth elements.
