PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To solve the problem of softening of soil in removing harmful substances in the soil by mixing earth and sand with a soil-restoring agent using iron as a reactant so as to facilitate a construction work after purification of soil.
SOLUTION : Contaminated earth and sand is mixed simultaneously with iron-containing particles serving as a reactant to detoxify harmful contaminants in soil, e.g. trichloroethylene and hexavalent chromium, and with a powder having a function of solidifying soil through hydration, e.g. Portland cement or fine powder of blast furnace slag so as to reduce concentrations of organic halogen compounds and/or hexavalent chromium and solidify earth and sand at the same time.
