PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide electrophotographic toner excellent in long-term preservability of an image and having improved fixing strength.
SOLUTION : In the electrophotographic toner, a binder resin contains a polyester resin synthesized by use of a non-homogeneous catalyst in which a rare earth metal triflate or a rare earth metal triflylimide is carried on a carrier. There are also provided a polyester resin synthesized from carboxylic acids including a dicarboxylic acid and alcohols including a diol and synthesized by use of a non-homogeneous catalyst in which a rare earth metal triflate or a rare earth metal triflylimide is carried on a carrier and a manufacturing method of the polyester resin, a manufacturing method of toner comprising the steps of mixing a fine particle dispersion of a binder resin containing the polyester resin and a fine particle dispersion of a colorant, heating the mixture to a glass transition temperature or melting point of the binder resin or above, and fusing aggregated particles, a developer containing the toner, and an image forming method using the developer.
