PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a corrosion-resistant magnet capable of preventing corrosion while restoring a magnet surface after machining in a rare earth magnet, and to provide its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION : An inactive phase including at least one of a plurality of kinds of elements constituting the rare earth magnet is provided on the surface of the rare earth magnet. The inactive phase is inactivated by exciting the surface and chemically changing an active phase on the surface. The inactive phase contains at least one kind of rare earth metal elements and transition metal elements constituting the rare metal magnet.
