PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nickel-hydrogen storage battery of high capacity provided with a hydrogen storage electrode using hydrogen storage alloy powder as an active substance which has cycle performance equal to or above that of the conventional battery.
SOLUTION : The hydrogen storage alloy powder is represented by the chemical formula of AwBxNiyCz; wherein, the symbol A is one or more kinds of elements selected from rare earth elements; the symbol B is one or two kinds of elements selected from Mg and Ca; the symbol C is one or more kinds of elements selected from Co, Mn, Al, Fe and Cu; and w+x=1, 0.04≤x≤0.17, 3.5≤y≤4.3, 4.0≤y+z≤4.7, 0≤z, and 4.75≤(x+y+z)/w≤5.35 are satisfied.
