PURPOSE : A contact oxidation tank that steadily maintains purification capability of contaminated water by flowing a filter medium through a diffuser, thereby separating contaminants accumulated on the diffuser and natural purification system and a method using the contact oxidation tank are provided.
CONSTITUTION : A natural purification system comprises : at least one or more contact oxidation tanks(11); a grit chamber(12) connected to an inflow part of the contact oxidation tanks to settle earth and sand contained in influent; a first emergency cutout valve(13a) installed between the grit chamber and the contact oxidation tank to control a flow amount of the influent flown into the contact oxidation tanks; a flow meter(15) connected to a discharge part of the contact oxidation tanks to measure a flow amount of treated water discharged from the contact oxidation tanks; and a second emergency cutout valve(13b) connected to the discharge part of the contact oxidation tanks to control the flow amount of the treated water discharged from the contact oxidation tanks based on an output signal of the flow meter.
