PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a means enabling a continuous classification and extraction of sand having the desired specific density from earth and sand containing foreign materials for a short time in large quantity without expending a labor hour and expense.
SOLUTION : Water which almost overflows from a discharge path 8 is supplied from a water supply pipe 15 to a classifying tank 1 through a collection tank 11, and an output port 4, and while earth and sand containing foreign materials is supplied from a supplying means 7 to the classifying tank 1, a conveyor 3 is rotated. As earth and sand containing foreign materials, and sand having different specific densities are carried in a sending direction of the conveyor 3 in a bottom portion 1a of the classifying tank 1, the stirring with water is carried out to mix, and a scraping on water surface is performed to flow the mixture toward a jumping board 5, 6. The foreign material, and earth and sand, light in specific density, get on the water flow of the water surface as they are, and are discharged from the classifying tank 1 into the discharge path 8. Earth and sand heavy in specific density or sand heavy in specific density are abutted or contacted to the jumping board 5, 6 to fall on an inclined surface 1b of the classifying tank 1, which is scratched up in the bottom portion 1a. The actions are continuously carried out to classify sand having the desired specific density, and gather with a collecting apparatus 12.
