PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnesium alloy to be plastic-worked which can provide a magnesium alloy member having superior strength and heat resistance after having been subjected to plastic working such as forging, and to provide the magnesium alloy member having superior strength and heat resistance obtained through plastic-working the magnesium alloy.
SOLUTION : The magnesium alloy to be plastic-worked comprises, when the total mass is defined as 100 mass% (hereafter expressed by simply "%"), 0.3-1.0% zirconium, one or more elements out of 0.2-2.0% calcium and 0.5-4.0% rare earth element, and the balance magnesium with unavoidable impurities.
