PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a new rubber composition simultaneously having high impact resilience and low hardness between which an antinomic relationship exists, without being deteriorated in other rubber characteristics.
SOLUTION : This rubber composition contains a butadiene rubber having a content of cis-1, 4 bonds of not less than 90% as a main rubber component, and further contains a petroleum-based mineral oil comprising 18% or less of an aromatic component in an amount of not less than 5 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the rubber component and a peroxide in an amount of 1-10 pts.wt. The petroleum-based mineral oil is preferably added to the composition in an amount of not less than 5 pts.wt. and less than 100 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the rubber component. A butadiene rubber which is polymerized by using a rare earth element-based catalyst is preferably used as the butadiene rubber.
