PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an alkaline battery containing nickel oxyhydroxide in a positive mix substantially enhancing storage performance and substantially enhancing energy density.
SOLUTION : The alkaline battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an alkaline electrolyte, the positive electrode comprises the positive mix containing a first active material, a second active material, and a graphite conductor. The first active material comprises electrolytic manganese dioxide and rare earth oxide particles carried on the surface of the electrolytic manganese dioxide, and the second active material comprises nickel oxyhydroxide particles. Alternatively, the first active material comprises nickel oxyhydroxide and rare earth oxide particles carried on the surface of the nickel oxyhydroxide, and the second active material comprises electrolytic manganese dioxide.
