PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnesium-based composite which has a matrix made of a magnesium alloy containing a rare earth element, inhibits an additive element for imparting the alloy heat-resistant strength from reacting with a reinforcing material, has improved fatigue strength and has both strength and rigidity, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.
SOLUTION : The magnesium-based composite has the reinforcing material of composing a preform, coated with a layer of a metallic oxide containing the oxide of the rare earth element contained in the matrix.
