PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a photofunctional optical material excellent in luminescent intensity, luminous efficiency and/or optical amplification and further, excellent in processability, e.g. ensuring easy processing to an optical waveguide type element.
SOLUTION : The photofunctional optical material comprises a copolymer of a fluorine-containing acrylate with a polyfunctional acrylate and a rare earth metal compound. A composition suitable as an optical material comprising the fluorine-containing acrylate, the polyfunctional acrylate and a rare earth metal compound is further provided.
