PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing a new rare earth element borate.
SOLUTION : This method for producing an element A-containing rare earth element borate : LnBO3 (Ln is at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Gd and Lu; A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, Mn, Al, Ga, In, Tl, Si, Ge, Sn and Bi) comprises a process for mixing and dissolving a rare earth acetate, an element A compound and a boron compound in an aqueous medium to prepare the aqueous solution of the raw material mixture, and a process for subjecting the aqueous solution of the raw material mixture to a hydrothermal treatment.
