PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a canned motor pump capable of securely preventing water from invading into rare-earth permanent magnets and a method of manufacturing the canned motor pump.
SOLUTION : The rotor of the canned motor pump is formed by molding a back yoke and the rare-earth permanent magnets integrally with the inside of a rotor body and a mold resin part. By a first resin molding step, the back yoke and the rare-earth permanent magnets are molded integrally with the magnet fitting parts of the rotor body, and ribs are formed on the axial both sides of the magnet fitting part. By a second resin molding step, the back yoke and the rare-earth permanent magnets are molded integrally with the rotor body with a resin material while melting the ribs so as to form a mold resin part. Since the rotor body and the molded resin part are fused by the molten ribs annularly continuously on the axal both sides of the magnet fitting part at a connection face between the rotor body and the molded resin part formed of the resin material, water can be prevented from invading into the rare-earth permanent magnets through clearances between the resin rotor body and the resin molded resin part.
