PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To perform the smooth waste water scattering that facilitates treatment activation according to aerobic microorganisms and to realize the reduction of maintenance operation in the re-treatment of waste water aerated in the external system.
SOLUTION : A tubular treatment tank 1 whose side peripheral surface is formed with water-permeable net material is buried in the ground. Chip-like wood pieces 21 are packed into the treatment tank to form a wood piece layer 2 and an air lift pump 4 is disposed in the state that the upper end opening is exposed from the upper surface of the wood piece layer. Waste water is introduced into the air lift pump 4 via a water feeding pipe 3 and, thereafter, is scattered to the upper surface of the wood piece layer according to an air lift operation, efficient biological treatment is performed by using microorganisms existing in the wood piece layer and, thereafter, treatment liquid is allowed to permeate into the earth from the side peripheral surface. The scattering of waste water is preferably performed via a plurality of scattering nozzles 5 arranged on the upper end opening of the air lift pump. Further, a water measuring tube 6 that picks waste water near the bottom part of a treatment tank and measures water is disposed in the treatment tank.
