PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To produce a stabilized zirconia carrier-carrying catalyst for exhaust gas cleaning, which can suppress a deterioration in catalyst performance even under a high-temperature service atmosphere.
SOLUTION : The exhaust gas-cleaning catalyst comprises a carrier, and an active component carried on this carrier. The active component comprises a noble metal. The carrier comprises stabilized zirconia containing at least one stabilizing element selected from the group consisting of rare earth elements and alkaline earth elements. The carrier carries 20 to 80 wt.% of the total weight of the active component in a form of solid solution formed between the stabilized zirconia in the inside of the carrier, and the remaining 80 to 20 wt.% of the total weight of the active component is carried on a surface of the carrier. |
