PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnetostrictive material which is produced by a powder metallurgical process, and combines excellent deflection strength and magnetostrictive properties.
SOLUTION : The magnetostrictive material having a composition expressed by RTx (R is one or more kinds of rare earth elements; T is one or more kinds of elements selected from the group consisting of Fe, Ni and Co; and X is the atomic ratio of T to R and satisfies 1≤X≤9) is obtained by a powder metallurgical process. As a sintering stage in this case, pulse electric press sintering is performed. |
