PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnetic powder for a bonded magnet which is high in magnetic characteristics and is manufactured at low cost, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION : In this rare earth magnetic powder having high coercive force, alkali earth metal exists on the interface of an R2TM14B (R is a rare earth element containing Y, TM is a transition metal element) phase, in the range of lattice constant a=4.7-5.7A (angstroms) and conforms with the R2TM14B phase. High coercive force powder of at least iHc=17 kOe can be obtained at low cost by a method, wherein an ingot containing the R2TM14B phase is crushed, mixed with alkali earth metal particles and thremally treated. |
