PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a Pd alloy hydrogen separation membrane material having improved hydrogen permeability.
SOLUTION : The Pd alloy hydrogen separation membrane material for obtaining high purity hydrogen by causing hydrogen in hydrogen-mixed gas to selectively permeate this hydrogen separation membrane material, is obtained by using Pd as a base metal, and using one or more kinds of elements M selected from the group 3a elements in the Periodic Table and rare earth elements as an additional element (s), and, in the case that the concentration of the additional element (s) M is 5 to 20 atomic% and the concentration of M is equal to the maximum solid solution limit concentration of Pd solid solution or higher, performing heating treatment at a temperature lower than an eutectic temperature TE between the Pd solid solution and a PdxMy intermetallic compound in which the concentration of Pd is highest and also within the range of TE-450 or higher, and in the case that the concentration of M is equal to the maximum solid solution limit concentration of the Pd solid solution or lower, performing heating treatment at a temperature lower than the solidus temperature of the Pd solid solution and also within the range of PTE-450 or higher, and thereafter performing rapid cooling. |
