PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a steel wire for carbon dioxide gas-shielded arc welding, which is made of steel material and stably forms a bead with excellent shape even when used with straight polarity, and to provide a welding method using the same.
SOLUTION : When conducting high-current carbon dioxide-shielded arc welding such as fillet welding or multilayer welding of a thick steel plate, a steel wire for carbon dioxide gas-shielded arc welding made of steel material containing 0.015-0.100 mass% rare earth elements and containing one or two kinds of elements from Se and Te of total 0.005-0.100 mass% is used. Straight polarity welding is conducted, while an arc point is shielded with a shield gas containing ≥ 60 vol.% CO2. |
