PURPOSE : A plasma display panel and manufacturing method of the same are provided to increase a secondary electron emission coefficient and lower a discharge start voltage in a driving process by changing a material of a protective layer formed on a front panel.
CONSTITUTION : A front panel includes a plurality of first electrodes(11) formed on a front glass substrate(10), a dielectric layer(12) formed on the first electrodes, and a protective layer(13) formed on the dielectric layer to protect the first electrodes. A rear panel(20) includes a plurality of second electrodes(22) crossing the first electrodes. The protective layer is formed with a layer including one or more of an alkaline earth metal oxide and a rare earth oxide. The alkaline earth metal oxide includes one or more of BeO, CaO, SrO, and BaO. The rare earth oxide includes one or more of Gd2O3 and Sc2O3.
