PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a phosphor containing borates of rare-earth metals and light sources incorporating such phosphors.
SOLUTION : The phosphor (80) comprises a material having a formula of AB3O6 : Ce, Mn, wherein A is at least a rare-earth metal other than cerium. The phosphor (80) can be used in light sources (10) and displays. According to one aspect of the present invention, the phosphor has a formula of AB3O6 : Ce, Mn, wherein A is at least a rare-earth metal other than cerium. In this formula, the elements following a colon denote the activators in the phosphor. |
