PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing polymer-coated minute particles wherein the minute particles are stable and well-coated with the polymer, and stable, polymer-coated, minute particles well-coated with the polymer.
SOLUTION : Minute hydrophobic particles are suspended in an organic solvent to form a suspension. This suspension and water containing a hydrophilic material are mixed together to form an emulsion with emulsified particle formed by surrounding the suspension with the hydrophilic material and dispersed in water. Minute particles with the hydrophilic material adsorbed thereon are obtained by slowly evaporating the organic solvent comprised by the emulsified particles while ultrasonic vibration is provided to the emulsion to maintain the emulsified particles in a fine state. The minute particles with the hydrophilic material adsorbed thereon are suspended in water, a monomer is contained, and the minute particles are re-emulsified by absorbing the monomer. Then, the polymer-coated minute particles are obtained by polymerizing the monomer on the re-emulsified particles in the emulsion. |
