A discharge lamp device comprising a light source device that excites a rare gas not including mercury, emits light constantly without producing ozone or the like, and is equipped with a reflection surface. The discharge lamp device comprises an air-tight container (10) formed of a glass bulb sealed at the opposite ends thereof, sealed thereinside with a discharge medium mainly containing a rare gas, and having a first electrode disposed inside the one end of this container (10). Rectangular-plate insulating holders (20) formed with through holes (21) are fitted over this container (10) at one or a plurality of locations thereof. The holders (20) are fitted into a U-channel-form second electrode (12) to keep the space between the container (10) and the second electrode (12) constant. Projections (23) are formed on the three side surfaces of each holder (20), and fitting holes (15) into which the projections (23) are fitted are formed in the second electrode (12) to prevent holders (20) from coming off the second electrode (12) when the projections (23) and fitting holes (15) are fitted. |
