简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To suppress the growth of a crystal grain, and to increase density by reducing sintering time. SOLUTION : Sintering is made by discharge plasma sintering, when manufacturing a rare earth sintered magnet, by sintering a forming body for forming a raw material alloy fine powder containing a rare earth element, a transition metal element, and boron. In this case, the amount of oxygen contained in the raw material alloy fine powder is set to 2, 500 ppm or smaller. By setting the amount of oxygen to 2, 500 ppm or smaller, the activation operation and cleaning operation of the surface of the raw material alloy fine powder by discharge plasma cannot be disturbed, thus performing sintering quickly and utilizing the growth suppression effect of the crystal grain serving as the advantage of a discharge plasma sintering method to the maximum.
