PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide such a rare gas discharge lamp as being capable of reducing the variation in figure of a final product, improving productivity and restricting dielectric breakdown between terminals at the end of an enclosure. SOLUTION : A rare gas discharge lamp has a straight-tube enclosure 1 with a luminous layer on the inner face, a sheet structure 3 formed by arranging a pair of band outside electrodes 5, 6 made from metal members on one face of a light transmissive sheet 4 with the length similar to the total length of the enclosure to be mutually isolated and guiding terminals 51, 61 electrically connected to the outside electrodes from the ends of the outside electrodes, and an insulating cap mounted on the end face of the enclosure. The sheet structure is wound on the outer periphery of the enclosure for the outside electrodes to be located between the enclosure and the light translucent sheet. The terminals have one ends 51a, 61a set to be narrower than the other ends 51b, 61b and the other ends arranged on the side faces 11b, 11b of the cap to be isolated therefrom. |
