PURPOSE : To provide an alloy for electric contact capable of exhibiting the same performance or more as strength, arc resistance and fusion resistance of a conventional Ag-CdO based alloy having high Cd content although an addition amount of Cd that is a non-environment friendly material is reduced in a Ag-CdO based alloy. CONSTITUTION : An alloy for electric contact has a composition comprising 20 wt.% or less of cadmium(Cd), 2.0 wt.% or less of tin(Sn), 1.0 wt.% or less of nickel(Ni), and the balance being silver(Ag) and other inevitable impurities, wherein the composition further comprises less than 0.1 wt.% of rare earth metal, wherein the rare earth metal is a misch metal formed of rare earth metals, and wherein the misch metal is a mixture of one or more elements selected from the group consisting of scandium(Sc), lanthanium(La), cerium(Ce), hafnium(Hf), palladium(Pd), yttrium(Y) and neodymium(Nd). © KIPO 2006 |
