PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a light emitter, which emits reddish warm color-based white light, and a light emitter with excellent light emitting characteristics and temperature characteristics.
SOLUTION : The light emitter is equipped with an excitation light source and a phosphor which absorbs at least a part of the light generated by the excited light source and converts it to the light of a different wavelength. The phosphor comprises the basic constituting elements : at least one kind of elements selected from yttrium, lutetium and gadolinium; at least one kind of elements selected from terbium, cerium, aluminium and galium; and oxygen. The phosphor has a garnet crystal structure. The mol ratio of terbium to all rare earth elements contained in the phosphor is in the range from ≥0.001 to ≤0.5 and the shift of the excited spectrum caused by change of the amount of terbium is <5 nm. The blue light emitting diode emitting the light with the spectral peak wavelength in the range of 450-460 nm and the like is used as the excitation light source. |
