PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for recovering precious metal when Li ion secondary battery, Ni-H secondary battery and NiCd secondary battery are in a mixed state.
SOLUTION : In the method for recovering the metal by having ashes generated containing metal and metal oxide from waste battery, (a) the ashes are dissolved in sulfuric acid solution. (b) Alkali is added and Cd ion and rare earth metal ion are settled. (c) Solid liquid separation is performed. (d) Solution is extracted by organic agent, and a water layer containing Ni and Co ion and an organic layer containing a large quantity of Cd, Fe and Zn ion are formed. (e) The water layer is extracted by an organic agent, and the organic layer containing a large quantity of the Co ion and the water layer containing a large quantity of Ni ion are formed. (f) The organic layer containing a large amount of Co ion is subjected to back extraction by sulfuric acid solution, and the water layer containing a large amount of Co ion is obtained. (g) Electrolysis is carried out using the water layer containing a large amount of Ni ion, and Ni metal is generated by reduction. (h) Electrolysis is carried out using the water layer containing a large amount of the Co ion, and Co metal is generated by reduction. (i) Sediment of lithium carbonate is formed by adding carbonate to the remaining solution. |
