PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cold cathode lamp in which liquefaction of mercury is prevented while maintaining characteristics of long lifetime of the cold cathode lamp and fading away due to over-cooling can be prevented.
SOLUTION : The cold cathode lamp comprises an arc tube 10 in which at least rare gas is filled, a first electrode 12 provided at one end 10A inside the arc tube 10, and a second electrode provided at the other end 10B inside the arc tube 10, and the arc tube 10 is made to emit light by discharging between the first electrode 12 and the second electrode 14. A coil 16 which is capable of conducting to the first electrode 12 is provided at one end 10A inside the arc tube 10, and the distance between the coil 16 and the second electrode 14 is made to be longer than that between the first electrode 12 and the second electrode 14. |
