PURPOSE : Provided are a green light emitting yttrium silicate fluorescent substance which is improved in temperature characteristic and lifetime by controlling the concentration range of Sc, and a cathode ray tube using the fluorescent substance which can display a high definition image.
CONSTITUTION : The green light emitting yttrium silicate fluorescent substance is represented by (Y, Sc, Tb)2SiO5, wherein 0.045 < the molar ratio of Sc to the total rare earth element Sc/(Y+Sc+Tb) < 0.17.
