A mixture is prepared in a container holding liquid. It includes 30-90 wt.% of a conductive Z (1-x)M xCrO 3phase. In the conductive phase, x is 0 to 0.3, Z is a lanthanide or mixed lanthanide, and M is calcium, strontium, magnesium, aluminum, titanium, yttrium or a mixture of them. Also included is 8-60 wt.% of an insulating phase based on fine-grained or tabular alumina, or mullite, or their mixture. 0-10 wt.% of frit additives are included. These include alkali metal or alkaline earth oxides and silicates and carbonates, dolomite and rare earth compounds The material is ground, dried, sieved and pressed. The mixture is sintered, to obtain a ceramic of porosity up to 25%. An independent claim is included for the corresponding ceramic. |
