PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a surface treatment method which makes a rare-earth bond magnet adequately corrosion resistant, does not need a special apparatus, and forms a metal oxide film as a protective layer through an adhesive on the surface of the rare-earth magnet powder; the surface-treated magnet powder; and a bond magnet containing the surface-treated magnet powder.
SOLUTION : The method for treating the surface of the rare-earth magnet powder comprises preparing slurry which disperses the rare-earth magnet powder having an adhesive layer on the surface in an organic solvent; subsequently adding a precursor of a metal oxide film and a catalyst into the slurry to make the rare-earth magnet powder coated with the metal oxide film through the adhesive layer; and subsequently heating it to 50 to 300°C in a vacuum or an inert atmosphere. |
