PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a harmful substance treatment material with which water comprising harmful substance such as arsenic, lead, cadmium and phosphorous can efficiently be treated, the stability of products is satisfactory, the re-elution of the harmful substance from the product is reduced, and considerable post-treatment can be dispensed with.
SOLUTION : In the harmful substance treatment material, an iron oxide based compound(s) is carried on inorganic fiber or an inorganic fiber-containing material. The iron oxide based compound is at least one kind selected from among schwertmannite baked matter, akaganeite baked matter, ferrihydrite baked matter, goethite baked matter, amorphous material-containing iron hydroxide baked matter, ferric sulfate baked matter, ferrous sulfate baked matter, ferric chloride baked matter, ferrous chloride baked matter, ferric nitrate baked matter and ferrous nitrate baked matter. The harmful substance treatment material is used for treating water containing at least one kind selected from among arsenic, lead, cadmium, antimony, uranium, phosphorus, selenium and fluorine as the harmful substance. |
