PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a composite roll for hot rolling, which is suitable for a post-stand in a hot finishing rolling, and is superior in abrasion resistance and seizure resistance. SOLUTION : This outer layer material has a composition consisting of 2.5-4.0% C, 0.8-2.5% Si, 0.2-1.5% Mn, 1.0-3.5% Cr, 0.5-4.0% Mo, 3.0-7.0% Ni, 1.0-3.5% V, 0.2-1.0% Nb, 0.02-0.2% Al, and 0.020-0.10% B, satisfying Cr/C of 1 or less, and including the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities. The material can further includes one or two selected from, by mass%, 0.10% or less REM (rare-earth metals), and 0.01% or less Ca, in addition to the above composition. |
