PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To find out a new oil phase component as a finishing agent for a fiber, substituting squalane which is a rare material, capable of being supplied stably and not derived from an animal. SOLUTION : This finishing agent is a polydecene or a hydrogenated polydecene which has properties as the excellent oil phase component capable of substituting the squalane and also excellent properties as the finishing agent for the fiber. Also, since the polydecene or hydrogenated polydecene has difference in properties such as the difference of viscosities according to their degrees of condensation, it becomes possible to select them freely in accordance with objectives. Further, it can exhibit functions better than equivalent to those of the squalane in the case of using with a physiologically active component jointly.
