PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an inorganic fluorophor, particularly a rare earth element-containing one, enhanced in emission intensity. SOLUTION : The inorganic fluorophor is such that the surface thereof is coated with an organic substance having thermodeactivation-suppressive function and/or an organic substance having photosensitizing function, wherein the organic substance having thermodeactivation-suppressive function is preferably bistrifluoromethanesulfonylimide, and the organic substance having photosensitizing function is selected from the group consisting of pentaerythritol-tetrakis[3-(3, 5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)]propionate, 2-(2-hydroxybenzotriazol-2-yl)-4-menthyl-6-(3, 4, 5, 6-tetrahydrophthalimidylmethyl)phenol and 2-hydroxy-4-octyloxybenzophenone.
