PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a varnish improved in solution stability and coatability using a polyarylate resin having excellent solubility in a non-halogen-based solvent and increased heat resistance.SOLUTION : A varnish is formed by dissolving a polyarylate resin in an organic solvent. A glass-transition temperature of the polyarylate resin is equal to or greater than 200°C but less than 320°C. The polyarylate resin at least contains the general formula (I).
