The present invention can provide an oxynitride fluorescent material represented by chemical formula MA2N2O2 : R, wherein the ratio of M to A is 0.950-0.985 : 2 (M+R : 2A=0.950-0.985 : 2). M is at least one element selected from Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba, R, as an activator, is one of the rare-earth elements, and A is at least one element selected from Si and Ge.
