FIELD : metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE : invention relates to aluminium-magnesium-lithium alloys and can be used in various industries. Aluminium alloy comprises, by wt% : 2.0–3.9 Mg, 0.1–1.8 Li, 0.4–2.0 Zn, 0.35–1.5 Cu, up to 1.0 Ag, up to 1.5 Mn, up to 0.5 Si, up to 0.35 Fe, optionally, at least one auxiliary element selected from the group consisting of Zr, Sc, Cr, Hf, V, Ti and rare-earth elements, in the following quantities : up to 0.20 Zr, up to 0.30 Sc, up to 0.50 Cr, up to 0.25 each of any of Hf, V and rare-earth elements, up to 0.10 Ti, the balance being aluminium. Method of producing blanks from an aluminium alloy includes casting aluminium alloy, hot rolling, cooling of the semi-finished product to a temperature not higher than 400 °F, cold rolling to final thickness, wherein the thickness of the semi-finished product is reduced by a value from 2 % to 22 %, or stretching the semi-finished product by 1–10 %, wherein the temperature of the alloy between cooling and cold rolling or stretching is maintained at not more than 400 °F.
EFFECT : invention is aimed at achieving an optimal combination of strength, ductility and corrosion resistance of aluminium-magnesium-lithium alloys.
