The present invention belongs to the field of novel materials having an optical function, and relates to a polysulfide up-conversion luminescent material. The material uses polysulfide as a matrix and uses rare earth ions as an activator. The composition of the material is represented by the general formula : mA2S·nBS·kC2-xS3 : Dx. The up-conversion luminescent material provided by the present invention can emit ultraviolet, blue, blue-green, green, red, and near-infrared light under the excitation of near-infrared light at 750 nm-1650 nm. Due to using a polysulfide having lower phonon energy and symmetry as a matrix material, and by means of preferably doping rare earth ions into the matrix material as a luminescent center, the up-conversion luminescent material provided by the present invention has higher up-conversion luminescent efficiency and safety as compared to an industrial NaYF4 : Yb, Er material, and the application range is broader.
